Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the success of our operations through expert mechanical care and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) specifications.
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on semi truck and trailer equipments and machinery and other heavy equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to support equipment repair or customization projects.
- Service and repair various types of industrial equipment including HVAC systems, power tools, and heavy machinery components.
- Conduct alignment procedures and tire services to maintain vehicle safety standards; perform brake repairs and diesel engine diagnostics for optimal performance.
- Utilize electrical diagnostics skills to troubleshoot complex electrical issues in heavy equipment; interpret schematics accurately for precise repairs.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate heavy equipment operation techniques while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed records of all service work performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and OEM guidelines.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical diagnostics.
- Skilled in fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; proficient with hand tools and power tools for assembly and repair tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics accurately; familiarity with OEM specifications for troubleshooting complex issues.
- Experience servicing semi truck and trailers and equipments in the diesel trucking industry
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation combined with maintenance expertise to ensure safe handling during repairs.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly; capable of working independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely; comfortable working in various outdoor conditions.
