Sky on Nine is LM Catering & Events' newest and most sophisticated venue, perched on the 9th floor of Rosemont's brand-new Staybridge Suites and Holiday Inn, just minutes from O'Hare. With sweeping panoramic views, an expansive open-concept floor plan, and custom-designed luxury chandeliers that turn every room into a showpiece, this is a space built to make big moments unforgettable.
We're looking for a Senior Catering Sales Manager to help write the next chapter of Sky on Nine's story. Someone who can walk a couple through their wedding day vision, turn a corporate client's vague idea into a flawless event, and make every guest feel like Sky on Nine was made just for them. This isn't just about booking events. It's about building the reputation of a brand-new venue from the ground up, and owning the sales pipeline that gets it there.
What You'll Do
Own the client experience, start to finish
- Lead engaging tours that sell the Sky on Nine vision, the views, the versatility, the chandeliers, the whole experience
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with clients from their first inquiry through their final post-event follow-up
- Craft compelling catering proposals and contracts tailored to each client's event
- Guide clients through menu planning and event timelines that set them up for a seamless day
- Conduct client menu tastings that showcase the culinary experience and help seal the deal
Drive the details that make events shine
- Design and edit floor plans that maximize the venue's open-concept layout
- Coordinate closely with operations and event staff to ensure every detail is communicated and executed
- Conduct site visits and manage invoicing with precision
- Take on additional sales and administrative projects as the venue grows
Be part of the face of a rising venue
- Respond to inquiries promptly and professionally, first impressions matter
- Represent Sky on Nine's brand and standards in every client interaction
- Bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset to a fast-growing property
- Report to the Director of Sales for Sky on Nine, working as part of a collaborative sales team
Knowledge & Skills
- 5+ years of sales experience in catering, venues, or hotel sales
- Strong preference for wedding sales experience
- Must be self-sufficient, proactive, motivated, and demonstrate intuitive customer service and interpersonal skills
- Effectively communicates with clients with high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy Communicates clearly, concisely, and openly in all interactions
- Has exceptional attention to detail, organizational, analytical, and time management skills
- Multi-tasks and prioritizes in a fast-paced work environment
- Exercises sound judgment: evaluates situations and utilizes appropriate and creative resources to solve problems
- Comfort with Mac systems, Microsoft Office, Google Docs; experience with Prism and Tripleseat a plus
- Evening and weekend availability required — because that's when the magic happens
