Job Overview
Slip Tech is seeking a dynamic and skilled Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing and construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling high-quality concrete paving slipform molds. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing MIG welding techniques and fabrication skills. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has an eye for craftsmanship, and has mechanical aptitude.
Duties
- Read and interpret CAD drawings, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of metal components.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other metal equipment to cut, shape, and assemble materials according to project specifications.
- Measure materials accurately with a tape measure, calipers, micrometers, and other tools; perform basic math calculations for measurements and material estimations.
- Operate rigging equipment such as cranes and forklifts to move heavy materials safely within the workspace or construction site.
- Maintain a clean work environment by following safety protocols related to welding fumes, fire hazards, and proper handling of tools and materials.
- Collaborate with team members on-site or in the shop to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.
Experience
- Proven construction site experience working with metal fabrication or welding projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience with MIG welding.
- Familiarity with CAD drawings for precise fabrication work.
- Ability to operate various hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brakes, and machining equipment confidently.
- Basic math skills including measurements with tape measure, calipers/micrometers.
- Self-starter willing to take on new projects, ask questions, and listen to directions
Pay: $23.00 - $30.00 per hour
