Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Outpatient Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions.
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions employing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management techniques to ensure patient safety during acute episodes.
- Deliver specialized counseling services including addiction counseling, grief counseling, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
- Document all patient interactions meticulously in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Coordinate case management activities, including patient care planning, medical records management, and follow-up assessments.
- Facilitate intake procedures for new clients, ensuring comprehensive understanding of their needs and treatment goals.
- Utilize telehealth platforms effectively to expand access to outpatient services across diverse geographic locations.
- Collaborate with medical professionals and social workers to develop holistic treatment plans that incorporate psychopharmacology when appropriate.
- Engage in clinical research initiatives and data collection efforts to support continuous improvement of therapeutic approaches.
Experience
- Proven experience providing outpatient mental health counseling in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Strong background in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and trauma-informed care.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, or individuals with disabilities including autism spectrum disorder and developmental delays.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention and crisis management skills.
- Telehealth experience is highly preferred for delivering remote outpatient services efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and mental health conditions.
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations while maintaining confidentiality.
- Skills in group therapy facilitation, social work practices, case management, and patient assessment are essential for success in this role.
