Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of hair services including cutting, coloring, styling, hair extensions, and special treatments such as eyelash extensions and nail care.
- Consult with clients to understand their desired look and recommend suitable hair care solutions tailored to their needs.
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene in accordance with industry regulations and store policies.
- Use salon software like Gloss Genius to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently.
- Upsell retail products such as hair care items, styling tools, and retail packages to enhance client satisfaction and store revenue.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly, listening attentively, and building lasting client relationships through personalized care.
- Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, managing wait times, and supporting store management with daily operations.
- Mentor junior team members in technical skills like barbering, color theory, store management practices, and client communication strategies.
Requirements
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license as required by state regulations.
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with expertise in hair styling, coloring, and hair care treatments.
- Knowledge of salon software systems such as Gloss Genius for appointment booking and client management.
- Strong communication skills to effectively connect with clients and team members alike.
- Ability to perform sanitation procedures meticulously to ensure a safe environment for all clients.
- Familiarity with retail sales techniques including upselling and retail math to maximize revenue opportunities.
- Experience working with diverse hair types, including knowledge of hair extensions and advanced styling techniques.
- Passion for ongoing learning about new trends in hair styling, color theory, nail care, and the latest beauty innovations.
