The purpose of this job is to plan, develop, and direct the financial programs of the Housing Authority of Bowling Green while maintaining all financial systems in accordance with local, state, and federal government regulations. Responsibilities include overseeing activities of independent auditors; ensures all audit issues are resolved and all compliance issues are met; verifies the preparation of the annual financial statements are in accordance with U.S. GAAP and federal, state, and other required supplementary schedules and information, planning, preparing and monitoring the operating budget for the Authority, compiles and prepares monthly and annual financial statements for the operating budget using the prescribed formats as stated by HUD, supervises all accounts payable and payroll functions, maintains and updates the chart of accounts on the general ledger, approves all journal entries made into the accounting ledger, prepares and submits the Operating Subsidy annually to HUD, Secure Coordinator for HUD/REAC Systems, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field required, with five to seven years of management level accounting experience: or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.
Salary is dependent on experience.
