We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel Speech Language Pathologist to join our educational team serving California schools on a year-round contract basis. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough speech and language assessments for students across various age groups within school settings.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that address specific communication challenges related to speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy interventions to promote effective communication skills in children with diverse needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special educators, parents, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care and optimize student outcomes.
- Monitor progress regularly and adjust therapy approaches based on assessment data and student response.
- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, and progress reports in compliance with school district policies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to contribute insights on students’ communication abilities and support strategies.
- Promote awareness of speech and language development through early intervention programs when appropriate.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant medical terminology, physiology principles, and anatomy knowledge during patient care activities.
Experience
- Prior experience working within school environments or educational settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in pediatric speech therapy with a focus on early intervention techniques.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy related to speech production, and medical terminology pertinent to pediatric care.
- Proven ability to assess patients comprehensively and develop effective treatment plans tailored for children.
- Familiarity with the unique communication needs of students with diverse disabilities or developmental delays.
- Excellent patient care skills combined with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of current best practices in speech therapy for pediatric populations is essential for success in this role.
