This position supports the Department of Human Services (DHS) strategic plan and management goals of an engaged and inclusive work culture, the purpose of this position is to coordinate the new employee welcome and orientation and coordinate the new employee mentor and new employee network programs. This position acts as the DHS technical expert for the agency in these functional areas: DHS Talent and Culture Programs including program design; establishing program goals; onboarding, training/coaching; matching mentees with mentors; support of mentor/mentee relationships and on-going evaluation and continuous improvement of the program. New Employee Orientation Welcome and Agency Culture component; establishing program goals, curriculum design, method of delivery and evaluation. Leadership development programs; establishing program goals, curriculum design, method of delivery and evaluation.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Design and develop the welcoming and agency culture component of the DHS agency-wide new employee welcome and orientation.

Lead, facilitate and project manage the DHS agency-wide new employee Talent and Culture Programs.
- Manage Onboarding efforts at DHS.

Two (2) years of experience advising and facilitating communications for steering new employee orientation and/or mentorship programs.
Required work experience must clearly demonstrate:

Managing agency-wide program for new employee culture, orientation, or another related program.

Applying project management and continuous improvement skills to programs managed.

Public speaking.

Tailoring processes for a person-centered onboarding approach.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, communications, or another related field may substitute for one (1) year of work experience.

Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
-
Strong human relations and communication skills; communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing; respond flexibly to requests and concerns.

Work across divisions, administrations and other state agency departments to generate a collaborative environment and to leverage resources from a variety of stakeholders

Managing large scale programs

Communicate powerfully and prolifically in a variety of formats including, but not limited to writing, presentations, interpersonally and electronically

Demonstrated experience facilitating discussions to guide, solicit and explore diverse perspectives.
