Position Summary
Highland Prep Academies is seeking a knowledgeable, engaging, and student-centered Part-Time AP Business with Personal Finance Instructor to support students across its three campuses. Highland Prep Academies is a STEM-focused, college preparatory institution dedicated to preparing students for success in an innovation-driven society. This position will provide instruction in Advanced Placement business-related content and personal finance topics, helping students develop practical financial literacy, analytical thinking, and college-ready academic skills.
The instructor will travel between campuses, teaching one day per week at each of the following locations: Madison Highland Prep in Phoenix, Highland Prep in Surprise, and Highland Prep West in Avondale.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in AP business-related coursework and personal finance content
- Create engaging lessons aligned to course objectives and student learning outcomes
- Teach students foundational and advanced concepts such as budgeting, saving, investing, credit, debt management, banking, entrepreneurship, and business principles
- Prepare students for AP-level expectations, including critical thinking, analysis, and application of business concepts
- Adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners across multiple campuses
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback on assignments and performance
- Collaborate with campus leadership and staff to ensure instructional consistency and student success
- Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and clear communication with students, families, and administrators
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Education, or related field preferred
- Experience teaching AP coursework, business, economics, or personal finance strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of financial literacy, business concepts, and college preparatory instruction
- Ability to engage and motivate high school students in a rigorous academic environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
- Ability to travel between the three Highland Prep campuses
