Job Overview
The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and ministry leader of Care Net Pregnancy Center of Indian River County and is responsible for advancing the Mission, Vision, Core Values, and strategic direction established by the Board of Directors.
As an ambassador of Jesus Christ, the Executive Director provides Christ-centered spiritual and organizational leadership while ensuring the effective stewardship of Care Net's people, programs, finances, relationships, resources, and community presence.
The Executive Director leads the organization in fulfilling its Mission:
To connect with and empower women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy with free, immediate transformational support to choose life for their unborn child and discover abundant life in Christ.
The Executive Director leads the organization toward its Vision:
To be a transformational Christian refuge.
The Executive Director translates this Mission and Vision into measurable organizational priorities, effective ministry operations, a healthy organizational culture, sustainable financial practices, strong community relationships, and transformational outcomes for those Care Net serves.

QUALIFICATIONS –
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit leadership, business administration, ministry, organizational leadership, communications, human services, or a related field; a master’s degree or equivalent executive leadership experience is preferred.
- Five or more years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in a Christian nonprofit, ministry, pregnancy-resource, healthcare, family-support, or community-service organization.
- Experience in staff supervision and development, organizational operations, budgeting and financial oversight, strategic planning, performance measurement, and organizational growth or change management.
- Experience in fundraising, donor development, major gifts, church engagement, and community partnership development.
- Ability to translate Mission, Vision, and strategic priorities into measurable goals, actions, and results.
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and public-speaking skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with Board members, staff, volunteers, donors, churches, clients, and community stakeholders.
- Strong judgment, initiative, problem-solving, discretion, confidentiality, accountability, and organizational leadership skills.
- Proficiency with technology, data and reporting systems, communication platforms, and organizational management tools.
- Demonstrate commitment to Care Net’s Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, Mission, Vision, Core Values, and life-affirming ministry, modeling biblical integrity and Christ-centered spiritual and organizational leadership.

ESSENTIAL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
1. CHRIST-CENTERED MINISTRY LEADERSHIP
- Demonstrate a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and model Christ-centered servant leadership.
- Champion Care Net's Mission, Vision, Core Values, Statement of Faith, Statement of Principle, and life-affirming ministry commitments.
- Provide spiritual leadership, encouragement, and direction to staff and volunteers.
- Cultivate a ministry environment in which women, men, families, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners are treated with dignity, compassion, grace, and respect.
- Ensure Care Net's Christian identity is consistently reflected throughout programs, services, organizational practices, communications, and relationships.
- Affirm and uphold Care Net National’s Statement of Faith and Pro Abundant Life values, demonstrating full alignment with its Christ-centered commitment to saving unborn lives, strengthening families, making disciples, and helping women and men discover abundant life in Christ.
2. STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP & ORGANIZATIONAL DIRECTION
- Serve as the primary executive leader responsible for implementing the Board-approved Strategic Plan.
- Translate strategic priorities into annual organizational goals, measurable objectives, departmental work plans, and resource priorities.
- Establish measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and regularly evaluate progress toward organizational and ministry outcomes.
- Align staffing, programs, budgets, operations, communications, and development activities with strategic priorities.
- Identify emerging ministry needs, community trends, organizational opportunities, and potential risks that may affect Care Net's future.
3. BOARD GOVERNANCE & ACCOUNTABILITY
- Serve as the primary staff liaison to the Board of Directors and maintain a transparent, collaborative, and accountable relationship with the Board.
- Attend Board meetings and provide timely executive reports regarding ministry impact, finances, operations, staffing, strategic priorities, risks, and emerging opportunities.
- Implement Board-approved policies, priorities, budgets, and strategic direction.
- Support Board committees and provide appropriate organizational information and resources.
- Maintain a clear distinction between Board governance responsibilities and staff operational responsibilities.
4. ORGANIZATIONAL OPERATIONS & INFRASTRUCTURE
- Provide executive oversight of Care Net's daily operations and ensure organizational systems effectively support the Mission.
- Establish and maintain clear organizational structures, responsibilities, workflows, policies, procedures, records, reporting systems, and internal controls that ensure consistent implementation, accountability, compliance, and effective ministry operations.
- Ensure technology, facilities, data systems, donor systems, and administrative infrastructure adequately support ministry operations.
- Identify operational inefficiencies, gaps, duplication, or risks and lead appropriate improvement efforts.
- Ensure compliance with applicable organizational policies, legal requirements, confidentiality standards, and professional practices.
5. STAFF LEADERSHIP & ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE
- Recruit, develop, supervise, evaluate, and retain qualified staff who support Care Net's Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Statement of Faith.
- Establish clear job responsibilities, performance expectations, goals, and accountability structures.
- Conduct or oversee regular employee performance evaluations and professional development.
- Develop leadership capacity and succession planning throughout the organization.
- Facilitate regular leadership and staff meetings that promote communication, collaboration, problem-solving, prayer, accountability, and strategic alignment.
- Create an organizational culture characterized by trust, teamwork, clarity, compassion, accountability, and excellence.
- Address personnel concerns promptly, appropriately, consistently, and confidentially.
6. MINISTRY PROGRAMS & CLIENT IMPACT
- Provide executive oversight to ensure all client programs and services remain aligned with Care Net's Mission and Vision.
- Ensure clients receive compassionate, professional, confidential, life-affirming, and Christ-centered support.
- Collaborate with ministry leaders to evaluate client needs, program effectiveness, utilization trends, and transformational outcomes while strengthening connections with churches and community resources that provide continued relational and spiritual support.
- Ensure appropriate systems exist for client access, referrals, follow-up, education, discipleship, and community connections.
- Evaluate existing and proposed programs for mission alignment, effectiveness, sustainability, staffing capacity, and financial impact.
- Establish measurable ministry outcomes that demonstrate both immediate service impact and progress toward long-term transformation.
7. FINANCIAL LEADERSHIP & STEWARDSHIP
- Work collaboratively with the Board Treasurer, Finance Committee, and appropriate staff to develop an annual budget aligned with strategic priorities.
- Provide executive oversight of organizational revenue, expenditures, financial controls, and resource allocation.
- Monitor financial performance throughout the year and recommend adjustments when appropriate.
- Ensure donor-restricted funds and designated resources are used appropriately.
- Model faithful stewardship, transparency, accountability, and integrity in the use of all resources entrusted to Care Net.
8. FUND DEVELOPMENT & DONOR RELATIONSHIPS
- Serve as a primary relationship-builder and ambassador with current and prospective donors, strategic investors, churches, foundations, businesses, and community partners.
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive annual development strategy.
- Cultivate, strengthen, and steward relationships with major donors and strategic ministry investors.
- Provide leadership for major fundraising initiatives, annual fundraising events, campaigns, sponsorships, and donor engagement activities.
- Work collaboratively with the Board to identify and cultivate prospective donors and strategic partners.
- Develop clear funding requests connected to strategic priorities and organizational needs.
9. MARKETING, COMMUNICATIONS & PUBLIC PRESENCE
- Provide executive oversight for Care Net's branding, marketing, public relations, digital presence, and stakeholder communications.
- Ensure client-facing and donor-facing communications are clear, professional, accurate, and aligned.
- Oversee development of impact stories, annual reports, stakeholder materials, presentations, donor communications, and strategic messaging.
- Strengthen digital outreach and community awareness, particularly among populations Care Net seeks to reach through its Mission.
- Protect and strengthen Care Net's reputation through transparent, compassionate, accurate, and mission-aligned communication.
10. VOLUNTEER & MINISTRY ENGAGEMENT
- Ensure an effective organizational structure exists for recruiting, screening, training, supporting, recognizing, and retaining volunteers.
- Ensure volunteer training and service expectations are consistent with organizational policies and ministry standards.
- Cultivate a collaborative ministry environment where volunteers understand their impact and strong connections are fostered among staff, volunteers, churches, donors, and community partners.
11. QUALITY, COMPLIANCE & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Establish a culture of organizational learning, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Regularly review organizational data, client outcomes, financial indicators, development metrics, stakeholder feedback, and strategic-plan progress.
- Ensure appropriate confidentiality, ethical practices, recordkeeping, and organizational safeguards.
- Conduct periodic organizational assessments and recommend revisions to systems, staffing, programs, policies, and strategic priorities.

The Executive Director's performance will be evaluated by the Board of Directors based upon established annual goals and demonstrated progress in areas including:

Annual performance goals should be established collaboratively by the Board and Executive Director and directly connected to the Care Net Strategic Plan.
Pay: $58,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
