Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for procedures.
- Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, EKG, and basic life support (BLS) when needed.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, and procedural notes.
- Support medical office management by scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries with excellent service skills.
- Assist in specialized areas like weight loss, TRT therapy, suboxone treatment, DOT exam, laboratory testing.
- Maintain compliance with medical documentation standards, ICD coding for diagnoses, and medication administration protocols within outpatient settings.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding to accurately support clinical workflows.
- Proven experience in medical office management and administrative support within busy healthcare environments.
- Skilled in EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management to ensure precise documentation and data security
- Competence in phlebotomy techniques and medication administration to support diverse patient needs.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in urgent care or emergency settings while maintaining attention to detail in medical records and documentation.
