Rand Eye Institute is seeking a friendly, organized, and compassionate Patient Liaison / Front Desk Coordinator to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive patient experience from check-in through check-out. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced medical environment, and enjoys helping patients while working collaboratively with physicians and clinical staff.
Healthcare or medical office experience is preferred. Ophthalmology experience is a plus but not required.
Primary Responsibilities
Patient Check-In/Check out
- Welcome patients with professionalism and courtesy.
- Verify demographic and insurance information.
- Collect and scan insurance cards, identification, and required documentation.
- Obtain necessary signatures and completed registration forms.
- Collect copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances.
- Schedule follow-up appointments according to physician recommendations.
- Ensure patients are accurately checked into the electronic medical record (EMR).
Telephone & Communication
- Answer a high volume of incoming telephone calls in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Respond to patient inquiries or direct them to the appropriate team member.
- Document telephone encounters accurately within the EMR.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of medical front office or healthcare customer service experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Accurate data entry and computer skills.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred.
- Professional appearance and positive attitude.
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
