Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Clamp Forklift Operator to join our logistics and warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating clamp trucks and other heavy equipment to efficiently load, unload, and handle materials within a fast-paced warehouse environment. Your expertise will ensure the safe and accurate movement of goods, supporting overall warehouse distribution operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to safety standards.
Duties
- Operate clamp trucks, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and other heavy equipment to load and unload shipments safely and efficiently
- Handle materials using appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks, order pickers, and <PERSON> pickers to fulfill order requirements
- Manage inventory movement within the warehouse, including stacking, organizing, and retrieving goods for shipping or storage
- Conduct routine inspections and basic repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation
- Support warehouse management system data entry to track inventory levels and movement accurately
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate order picking, distribution tasks, and equipment usage
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines diligently to maintain a safe working environment for all team members
Skills
- Proven experience operating clamp trucks, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, and other heavy equipment in a warehouse setting
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic repairs on equipment as needed
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts, weight measurements, and order accuracy
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes, including order picking and load & unload operations
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within a diverse environment
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and extended periods of standing or operating machinery
