Sun Valley Resort is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Terrain Park Groomer to support the nightly construction, maintenance, and grooming of terrain parks. This position is responsible for building and maintaining terrain park features, operating grooming equipment safely and efficiently, and collaborating with Terrain Park, Snowmaking, and Grooming teams to provide exceptional conditions for guests. The ideal candidate is a skilled snowcat operator who thrives in a team environment, takes pride in producing high-quality terrain, and is committed to safety.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform nightly grooming and maintenance of terrain parks to ensure safe, high-quality, and contest-ready conditions.
- Build, reshape, and maintain terrain park features using snow grooming equipment.
- Complete maintenance on terrain park features that could not be addressed during daytime operations.
- Install new terrain park features and assist with park rebuilds throughout the season.
- Communicate with Terrain Park staff regarding completed work, feature conditions, maintenance needs, and features requiring inspection or closure.
- Perform pre- and post-shift inspections of snowcats, including checking fluid levels, identifying equipment damage, and reporting mechanical issues.
- Clean snowcats after each shift and maintain equipment in a safe and operational condition.
- Complete required maintenance reports and communicate repair needs to the Vehicle Maintenance team.
- Assist Snowmaking with relocating fan guns and equipment as needed.
- Support grooming and trail-building operations outside of terrain parks when operational needs require.
- Maintain a culture of safety by following all operating procedures and communicating hazards promptly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
