Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Driver specializing in operating wheelchair accessible vans to provide safe, reliable transportation services. In this vital role, you will ensure the comfort and safety of passengers, including children, seniors, and individuals with mobility challenges. Responsibilities
- Safely operate wheelchair accessible vans in accordance with all traffic laws, transportation safety regulations, and company policies.
- Assist passengers with wheelchair boarding, securing mobility devices, and providing courteous support throughout the trip.
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety, proper functioning of wheelchair lifts, brakes, lights, and other essential systems.
- Maintain clear communication with passengers, dispatchers, and team members using effective verbal skills; provide exceptional customer service at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience driving large vehicles.
- Knowledge of transportation safety regulations such as vehicle codes, traffic laws, state and local commercial driving laws.
- Experience working with seniors is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues quickly.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Ability to handle heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks associated with wheelchair assistance and vehicle operation. For example, pushing a 300 lb person in a wheelchair up a ramp going into a vehicle and/or a home.

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
