Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our Lovely Little Team and dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following aseptic techniques.
- Taking Digital Dental Radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient visit.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care.
- Manage appointment scheduling, patient intake, and follow-up communications.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the practice.
- Collaborate with the dental team to enhance patient experience and treatment outcomes.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in medical terminology and dental terminology is essential.
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry is preferred.
- Experience with Dental coding, Dental records management, and Dental documentation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of medical imaging techniques is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Certification in dental assisting or relevant experience in a dental setting is preferred.
- Experience with Dentrix practice management software and Dexis imaging software is required.
- "Candidate should be proficient in intraoral scanning and skilled in capturing high-quality intraoral and extraoral photographs for patient records and treatment planning.
- Experienced in preparing and positioning patients for CBCT and panoramic radiographic imaging.
- Skilled in providing four-handed chairside assistance, ensuring efficient workflow and patient comfort during clinical procedures.
