Physical T herapy A ssistants work under the direct supervision of a licensed physical therapist to implement a patient's treatment. They teach patients or clients exercises to increase their mobility, strength, and coordination. They also train patients to use crutches, canes, and walkers. Some P hysical T herapy A ssistants are also trained in massage to help patients heal and relax. This is a fast-paced yet fun role with a hard-working team that offers diversity in patient care and plenty of opportunities to grow within the organization.
A PRN caregiver in this position works varying days and hours between 7:00AM – 6:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide education on Physical Therapy related subjects to patients, clients, caregivers, hospital personnel and the community.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
