Job Description: As a Shop Foreman at Klingerman Family Auto, you will help ensure the service department is operating efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality work ensuring the mechanical integrity and safety of our inventory and customers’ vehicles. You will work alongside a team of experienced sales and service professionals, focusing on both the administrative and mechanical aspects of the service department. Your expertise will contribute to our commitment to providing customers with reliable, well-maintained vehicles, while increasing shop productivity..
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics to identify vehicle issues and propose effective repair solutions.
- Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
- Execute complex repairs on engines, suspensions, electrical systems, and other components.
- Inspect vehicles for safety and quality assurance, adhering to industry standards and state laws.
- Collaborate with the sales team to ensure accurate vehicle assessments and repairs before sale.
- Create accurate estimates, invoicing work orders, and ordering parts.
- Communicating repairs, diagnostics, and costs as a liaison to Customers, Technicians, and the Service Manager.
- Assist in delegating work to appropriate technicians to ensure both the highest quality work and efficiency.
- Document all repairs and maintenance tasks performed on each vehicle accurately.
- Keep the workshop clean, organized, and comply with all safety regulations and Pennsylvania inspection licensing standards.
- Maintain appropriate supplies and inventory.
- Stay up to date with automotive technology advancements and the industry's best practices.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in automotive technology is preferred.
- Working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Automotive Repair: 8 years (Preferred)
- Must have a Pennsylvania inspection license.
- Must have own tools for repairs.
- Proven experience as an automotive technician, preferably in a dealership or repair shop setting.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical, and brakes.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to use a computer effectively.
- Ability to create accurate estimates.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as lead a service team..
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
