Duties
- Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new dishes and improving existing recipes
- Handle food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients efficiently
- Support kitchen operations during busy service hours by coordinating with team members to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Follow all food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality standards are met consistently
- Contribute to catering events or special functions by preparing large quantities of food with attention to detail
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven kitchen experience in a restaurant or food service environment, demonstrating strong culinary skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques
- Skilled in knife work, meal preparation, and cooking methods across various cuisines
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
- Familiarity with menu planning, food industry practices, and catering operations is a plus
