Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items with precision, following established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in accordance with food safety management and safety standards in production
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting creative ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Handle food safely during preparation, cooking, and serving to meet all food handling and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional food service and catering experiences
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is functioning properly and report any maintenance needs promptly
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a related food industry role; restaurant experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Demonstrated knife skills, slicing techniques, and proficiency in meal preparation methods
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward serving guests and supporting colleagues
- Prior experience with menu planning, catering, or food service operations is advantageous
