About On Hand Distribution
On Hand Distribution is an established third-party logistics (3PL) provider strategically located minutes from the Port of New York and New Jersey. We provide warehousing, transloading, drayage coordination, cross-docking, rework, quality inspections, and value-added logistics solutions for importers, manufacturers, distributors, and freight partners.
We are expanding our sales team and are seeking experienced sales professionals who understand the logistics industry and can generate new business immediately.
This is not an entry-level sales position. Applicants without prior experience selling warehousing or 3PL services are unlikely to be considered.
Responsibilities
- Develop new warehousing and logistics business throughout the NY/NJ region and surrounding markets.
- Prospect importers, manufacturers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, transportation companies, and other supply chain partners.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through networking, referrals, cold outreach, LinkedIn, industry events, and in-person meetings.
- Identify customer needs and develop customized logistics solutions.
- Collaborate with operations to prepare proposals, pricing, and customer onboarding.
- Build long-term customer relationships while identifying opportunities to expand existing business.
Qualifications Required
- Proven business development and outside sales experience selling 3PL, warehousing, or supply chain solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to prospect, develop, and close new B2B business independently.
- Strong understanding of warehousing, distribution, transportation, and logistics operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the NY/NJ market.
Highly Preferred
- Existing relationships with importers, manufacturers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, transportation providers, or companies requiring warehousing services.
- Ability to generate new revenue opportunities or transition existing customer relationships quickly.
- Experience selling multiple logistics services, including warehousing, transloading, drayage, cross-docking, and value-added logistics solutions.
- Established network within the NY/NJ port and supply chain community.
Professional Expectations
As a representative of On Hand Distribution, you will be expected to:
- Follow all company onboarding procedures for new customers.
- Utilize company-approved proposals, contracts, rate confirmations, service agreements, and onboarding documentation.
- Accurately document customer activity, pricing, and communications.
- Work closely with operations to ensure customer commitments align with operational capabilities.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical business practices in all customer interactions.

Compensation
We recognize that successful sales professionals are motivated by opportunity, not one-size-fits-all compensation.
Compensation is intentionally flexible and will be structured based on the candidate's experience, existing industry relationships, demonstrated sales history, and anticipated production. Depending on the candidate, this position may be offered as either a 1099 Independent Contractor or W-2 role.
Compensation packages may include:
- Performance-based commissions
- Draw against future commissions, where appropriate
- Base compensation for select candidates
- Performance incentives and bonuses
- Long-term growth opportunities tied to retained customer revenue

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,500.00 per year
