We are expanding and looking for one additional mechanic to join our team.
This is a full-time on-site role where the Bicycle Mechanic will be responsible for repairing bikes, conducting bike services and occasional sales related to components and service.
From high-performance road, gravel, mountain bikes and the occasional commuters, this role is for an experienced mechanic that can work at a shop where we value high-quality work.
Duties:
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, drivetrain service (both mechanical and electronic), brake bleeds and adjustment on road, MTB and e-bikes.
- Bike Assembly: Assemble and prepare bikes for sale and display on the showroom floor.
- Technical Proficiency: Use specialized repair apps for Di2 , AXS and eTap systems and stay updated on the latest bike technologies.
- Operate the cash register and POS (Lightspeed), process work orders on our system and manage inventory.
- Report inventory shortages and supply needs to the Store Manager.
- Maintain shop cleanliness, including personal and shared workspaces.
- Explain technical product or service information to customers and assist in selling products and services as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bike Mechanic, minimum of 5 years working with bike repair and maintenance.
- Passion for cycling and familiarity with high-end bikes (e.g., builds of Shimano 105 or SRAM GX AXS and higher).
- Bicycle Repair skills and qualifications from Park Tool School, SRAM, Shimano, United Bicycle Institute, Santa Monica College or equivalent is needed.
- Experience with POS systems such as Lightspeed and Ascend.
- Must be punctual.
- Positive attitude.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Additional qualifications that would be beneficial:
- Experience with retail.
- Certification in bicycle mechanics is a must.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
Compensation:
- $19-28/hr depending on experience and skills. Plus commission.
