Role Summary
We are currently looking for a reliable and meticulous Punch Press Operator to join our aerospace production team in Whittier, CA. The successful applicant will have a background in operating punch presses, CNC systems, manual machinery, or similar precision tools, with the capability to produce high-quality parts while maintaining strict tolerances and achieving daily output targets.
This position is an ideal fit for both seasoned Punch Press Operators and machinists with relevant manufacturing expertise who are eager to develop their technical proficiency within the aerospace sector.
Primary Responsibilities
Punch Press Operation

Configure, run, and oversee punch press machinery to create precise aerospace components.

Assemble, install, and align dies in accordance with technical specifications.

Initiate and supervise machine cycles while detecting any mechanical misalignment or functional errors.

Conduct initial piece evaluations and execute necessary adjustments prior to starting production runs.

Help maintain consistent product quality and AQL compliance by performing ongoing in-process checks.
Blueprint Interpretation & Manufacturing

Analyze and comprehend technical blueprints, engineering schematics, and production orders.
-
Fabricate components following specific design requirements and manufacturing guidelines.
-
Demonstrate a solid grasp of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
-
Ensure all manufactured parts consistently stay within extremely precise tolerance limits.
Quality Inspection
-
Execute dimensional assessments using high-precision measurement tools.
-
Operate equipment such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and optical comparators.
-
Help ensure high-quality output by maintaining tolerances of ±0.001 inches and accuracy of ±0.0005 inches.

Validate the quality of products throughout every stage of the manufacturing cycle.
Equipment Maintenance

Carry out standard preventative maintenance tasks on punch press hardware.

Promptly notify management regarding any mechanical issues or maintenance needs.

Contribute to a safe working environment by ensuring all machinery remains in optimal condition.
Production Documentation

Input production data into the internal computer system.

Log labor hours, output volumes, scrap rates, and relevant production notes.

Keep precise records of all production and quality control activities.
Workplace Safety & Housekeeping

Adhere to all organizational safety protocols and industry regulations.

Support a tidy, organized, and secure workspace for the entire team.

Required Qualifications
Education

High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Equivalent professional experience in manufacturing will be considered.
Experience

1-3 years of related machining or production experience is preferred.

Background in aerospace manufacturing is a plus but not required.

Prior experience with punch press operation is preferred.

Candidates with backgrounds in CNC, manual machining, Tool & Die, or precision machining are encouraged to apply.
