Key Responsibilities and Duties
-
Lead all preventive and corrective maintenance operations across two Virginia facilities
- Audit, redesign, and improve PM schedules for sorting, packing, cooling, and conveyor equipment
- Develop and enforce maintenance SOPs and repair standards
- Serve as the primary Upkeep CMMS power user, leveraging downtime and work order data to improve reliability
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with production leadership to maximize uptime and throughput
- Lead Tier 1 and Tier 2 CapEx projects including equipment upgrades and facility improvements
- Support larger capital initiatives and equipment installations with senior leadership
- Manage project budgets, documentation, and reporting
- Oversee spare parts inventory and technical purchasing activities
- Supervise and develop maintenance mechanics across multiple shifts
- Manage scheduling, overtime, work orders, and shift coverage
- Reinforce safety programs including lockout/tagout, confined space, and food safety compliance
- Coordinate contractors and vendors for facility and residential property maintenance
- Oversee maintenance and compliance for approximately 10 residential support properties
- Lead shutdown planning and execution during offseason maintenance periods
Qualifications Needed:

High school diploma or GED required; technical education or maintenance certifications strongly preferred

Minimum 5+ years of industrial maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing, food production, packaging, or agricultural operations

Experience managing preventive maintenance programs and CMMS systems

Strong background in industrial mechanical systems, conveyors, sorting systems, packaging equipment, and facility maintenance

Experience leading CapEx projects, equipment installations, and operational improvement initiatives

Proven ability to lead maintenance teams across multiple shifts and facilities

Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills

Experience managing spare parts inventory and vendor relationships

Knowledge of lockout/tagout, confined space, and food safety protocols

Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

Ability to work extended hours during peak operational seasons and support on-call responsibilities
