Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation and logistics operations within our supply chain network. The ideal candidate will manage freight movements, utilize advanced transportation management systems, and ensure timely delivery of goods. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in data entry, and the ability to operate multi-line phone systems. The Dispatcher plays a crucial role in optimizing fleet management and supporting overall transportation planning to meet company objectives efficiently.
Duties
- Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine.
- Utilize GIS and GPS tools to monitor vehicle locations and optimize routing for efficiency.
- Communicate with drivers, carriers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, maintaining professional phone etiquette.
- Manage shipping & receiving schedules, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation through AS400 and other logistics software.
- Oversee fleet management activities, including dispatching trucks, tracking deliveries, and resolving logistical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers to coordinate third-party logistics services and ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
- Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, freight movements, and related documentation for reporting purposes.
- Support transportation planning by assessing capacity needs and coordinating resources accordingly.
Experience
- Proven experience in dispatching within transportation or logistics industries is preferred.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and supply chain principles.
- Experience with freight coordination, shipping & receiving processes, and fleet management.
- Excellent analysis skills combined with the ability to interpret complex data related to transportation operations.
- Proficiency in data entry, typing skills, and working with multi-line phone systems.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to handle multiple stakeholders professionally.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
