Overview
Murtis Taylor Human Services System is seeking a dependable, energetic, and compassionate Residential Supervisor to lead the daily operations of an adult mental health residential program.
This is a hands-on leadership position that involves working directly with clients and staff in the residential facility. The Residential Supervisor will help maintain a safe, respectful, supportive, and recovery-focused environment while overseeing daily operations and guiding residential employees.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the mental health or behavioral health field and be ready to assume greater leadership responsibility. Previous residential experience is preferred but not required for candidates with mental health or behavioral health experience. We are willing to train a motivated candidate who understands the needs of individuals living with mental illness and is comfortable being actively involved in the daily operations of the program.
The Residential Supervisor manages 2 locations and directly supervises approximately 6 to 10 employees and participates in an after-hours on-call rotation.
Duties
- Provide hands-on leadership and oversight of daily residential operations.
- Work directly with clients and residential staff to maintain a safe, supportive, and respectful environment.
- Supervise, schedule, train, coach, and support residential employees.
- Help ensure adequate staffing coverage and respond to call-offs, emergencies, and operational concerns.
- Support clients with daily needs, problem-solving, community living, and progress toward greater independence.
- Coordinate services with case managers, therapists, physicians, hospitals, family members, and community partners.
- Participate in client admissions, service planning, discharge planning, and community-placement decisions.
- Conduct staff meetings and participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Review client records, incident reports, service documentation, and program files for completeness and accuracy.
- Provide leadership during behavioral health crises and guide staff in completing appropriate interventions and follow-up.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.
- Conduct regular inspections of the residence, grounds, supplies, equipment, and common areas.
- Coordinate maintenance requests and help ensure that the facility remains clean, safe, and well maintained.
- Purchase and monitor food, household supplies, furniture, appliances, and resident-related items.
- Prepare routine reports and assist with quality-improvement activities.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients, employees, families, referral sources, and community partners.
Qualifications
- Experience working in mental health, behavioral health, social services, case management, community support, crisis services, or a related human services field.
- Previous experience in a residential facility, group home, supportive housing program, or adult care facility is preferred but not required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Previous supervisory, team-lead, or staff-development experience is helpful but not required.
- Interest in developing leadership and program-management skills.
- Willingness and ability to work directly with clients and staff in a hands-on residential environment.
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships with adults experiencing mental health challenges.
- Strong communication, organization, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
