American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position on an Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit, requiring 1+ years of MS/Tele experience and Epic EMR proficiency.
-
Work on a 26-bed Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit providing telemetry-capable care for hospitalized patients aged 65 and older
-
Unit is staffed by specially trained Geriatric Resource Nurses focused on preserving cognitive and physical function to help patients return to baseline
-
Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5
-
Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
-
Every other weekend required
-
Uses Epic EMR for charting
-
Floating to other units or campuses required based on census needs, limited to areas of demonstrated competency
-
Active SC or compact RN license required
-
BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
1+ years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
-
1+ years of Epic EMR experience required
-
Proficient in geriatric-focused care
-
Skilled in IV starts, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line management
-
Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
-
Proficient in remote telemetry monitoring
-
Experience with Heparin protocols
-
2 years of specialty experience required for first-time travelers
-
Provide telemetry-capable nursing care to elderly patients focused on mobility, recovery, and reducing length of stay

Part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to preserving cognitive and physical function in geriatric patients
-
Facility is a regional teaching medical center designated as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
-
Orientation occurs every Monday with annual compliance requirements
-
Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
-
Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks

First-time travelers will be considered

Local candidates accepted, subject to radius rule criteria

Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible for full travel rate; reduced rates apply for those 90-99.9 miles away
-
Night shift travelers in this specialty must be 50+ miles from the contracted campus, with full rate at 100+ miles and reduced rate for 50-99.9 miles
