The Kennel Technician provides care and the basic needs of animals that are being groomed, boarded, or are patients of Boyette Animal Hospital, including cleaning of cages, runs, ward areas, laundry, walking, proper feeding, bathing, caring for animals being boarded, scheduling boarding/grooming reservations, checking in/out of boarding and grooming clients. The position will provide animal handling experience and will teach to medicate animals and perform some basic laboratory tests. etc.
Please note that animals will require care seven days a week, including holidays - Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays are our busiest days in the kennel.
Primary Job Responsibilities: Observe animal appearance and activity for general physical condition and obvious signs of distress. Unfamiliar situations are referred to the supervisor.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will sit or stand for periods of a time
- Must be able to lift 40lbs unassisted
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- May be required to work an off shift or weekends as needed for coverage and meetings.
- Prior Supervisor/Manager Kennel Experience a plus
