Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commercial Overhead Door Lead Technician to join our growing team The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with the installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of garage door systems. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, support, and train Technicians on job tasks, safety procedures, and quality expectations.
- Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed according to job specifications and timelines
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for customers, addressing questions and communicating job status and solutions
- Ensure all work meets company standards, safety requirements, and applicable building codes
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and job specifications to guide installations and repairs
- Safely operate and oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, forklifts, scissor lifts, and ladders
- Perform quality checks on installations and repairs prior to job completion
- Ensure all required paperwork is completed accurately and submitted daily, including job workorders with clear notes, photos, part numbers, and timecards through JobFilez
- Coordinate out-of-town travel and jobsite logistics as required, including short-notice assignments
- Promote a safe work environment and enforce company safety policies and procedures
- Act as a mentor to Technicians with the goal of developing future Lead Technicians
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Commercial Overhead Door and Loading Dock Technician
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated leadership or crew lead experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including cold and extreme heat
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, pulling, climbing, standing, kneeling, squatting, and working at heights
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Above-average mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills
