Casa Rondeña Winery is looking for a Prep Cook/Dishwasher to join our team, supporting both our 1629 Members Club and Animante de Rondeña Club.
This position is scheduled Wednesday through Sunday, averaging 25–30 hours per week. Compensation starts at $14.00 per hour, plus gratuities, tips, and commission.

Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Prep Cook/Sous Chef to join our team at Animante de Rondeña. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation and execution of high-quality dishes, ensuring that each plate meets our standards of excellence. This role involves working closely with the Executive Chef to support daily kitchen operations and contribute to the creative development of our seasonal menus.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts.
- Prepare ingredients by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and performing other tasks as needed for meal preparation.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure proper storage of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Support the Executive Chef in planning and executing special events, wine dinners, and private functions.
- Ensure consistency and quality in every dish served, with attention to presentation.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
- Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, promoting a positive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Prep Cook, Line Cook, or Sous Chef in a restaurant or catering environment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and safety practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Passion for food and a commitment to delivering high-quality culinary experiences.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
