General Accountant / Accounting Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented General Accountant / Accounting Manager to oversee the company's accounting operations and support financial decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, experience with QuickBooks, payroll processing, budgeting, and financial reporting, while also assisting with basic HR and hiring functions. This position requires excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting and payroll experience using QuickBooks.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal).
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including:
- Excel
- Word
- Outlook
- Strong understanding of U.S. accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial and employee information.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Finance
- Perform weekly and monthly financial closings.
- Prepare accurate monthly and annual financial statements.
- Process and oversee payroll.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Maintain inventory records from an accounting perspective.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger adjustments.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and accounting regulations.
- Coordinate with the company's CPA regarding financial reporting, tax filings, and tax payments.
- Assist with tax preparation and related documentation.
- Develop, monitor, and analyze company budgets.
- Prepare financial analyses, management reports, and key financial ratios to support business decisions.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls and financial efficiency.
Human Resources Support
- Participate in interviewing candidates for open positions.
- Assist with hiring and onboarding of new employees.
- Coordinate with management regarding staffing needs and hiring documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing accounting operations in a small to mid-sized business.
- Experience with inventory accounting.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Prior supervisory or management experience is a plus.
