Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of landscape technicians in daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to quality standards
- Oversee lawn care, including mowing, edging, fertilizing, aeration, and weed control to maintain healthy turf
- Manage landscape maintenance activities such as pruning, planting, mulching, and seasonal cleanups
- Coordinate hardscaping construction projects including patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other hardscape features
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, irrigation systems, and company vehicles
- Identify plants, trees, shrubs, and pests to ensure proper care and health of landscapes
- Supervise irrigation management to optimize watering schedules and troubleshoot system issues for efficient water use
Requirements
- Proven experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, or gardening with a strong knowledge of horticulture practices
- Prior supervising or team management experience in outdoor or groundskeeping settings
- Ability to identify various plants and troubleshoot common landscape issues
- Hands-on experience with hardscaping construction projects and outdoor equipment operation
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage crew tasks effectively while maintaining safety standards
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and irrigation management techniques
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to operate company vehicles safely
- Physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions; experience with grounds maintenance equipment is preferred
- Construction or landscaping experience is a plus; a passion for groundskeeping and outdoor aesthetics is essential
