Dispatcher / Warehouse Manager – Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
Job Summary
The Dispatcher / Warehouse Manager is responsible for coordinating daily delivery operations, managing warehouse inventory, supervising delivery staff, and ensuring timely and accurate distribution of durable medical equipment (DME). This position plays a key role in maintaining efficient logistics, excellent customer service, and compliance with healthcare and safety standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and dispatch daily delivery and pickup schedules for drivers and technicians
- Monitor delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient service
- Manage warehouse operations including receiving, stocking, organizing, and inventory control
- Oversee cleaning, sanitizing, testing, and maintenance of returned medical equipment
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory audits
- Communicate with patients, healthcare facilities, and referral sources regarding deliveries and equipment availability
- Supervise warehouse staff and delivery personnel
- Train employees on safety procedures, equipment handling, and company policies
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and company standards
- Resolve delivery issues, scheduling conflicts, and customer concerns professionally
- Coordinate equipment repairs and preventive maintenance
- Maintain delivery logs, dispatch records, and operational documentation
- Assist management with workflow improvements and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred
- Previous dispatching, warehouse, logistics, or DME experience preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Experience managing schedules, routing, and inventory systems
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and inventory software
- Ability to lead and supervise team members effectively
- Knowledge of durable medical equipment and healthcare operations is a plus
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50–75 lbs
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- Ability to work in warehouse and office environments
- Occasional assistance with loading/unloading delivery vehicles
