Schedule: Monday - Friday (40hrs. per week) | 7:00am-5:30pm

Performs diversified technical and clinical responsibilities in the cardiac catheterization/electrophysiology laboratories.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares patients and supplies for cardiac catheterization procedures. Anticipate needs for the procedure based on patient assessment, procedure performed and physician preference. (20%)

Documents and report all technical data during procedure. (20%)

Maintains sterile technique and field during procedures. (20%)

Interprets lethal arrhythmias and performs ACLS appropriately. (10%)

Be proficient in the use of all equipment in the EP lab area according to competencies. (20%)

Provide education to patient and families. (10%)
Covers for peers during vacation/illness, participates in training, attends staff meetings, and writes/reviews reports.
Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
Required Education: High School Diploma/GED or Associate's Degree. Specific course work: Graduate of
Cardiovascular Program, or in lieu of degree have 5+ years experience in Invasive Cath labs.
Preferred Education: Graduate either/or RTR or CVT Program.
Necessary Skills
- Use of good radiographic techniques to reduce radiation exposure to patient and personnel.
- Good communication skills.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology (adult).
- Be able to use hospital computer system.
- Ability to prepare procedure tray/equipment and maintain sterility when scrubbing in surgical
procedures
- Knowledge of body techniques and ability to use good body mechanics.
- Ability to initiate appropriate patient charge.
- Proficiency in using EP lab equipment.
- Patient advocate skills.
Required Licensure/Certifications:

BLS from the American Heart Association
-
ACLS from the American Heart Association
Must meet one of the following requirements:
1. Be a Registered Radiologic Technologist, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist
(RCES), or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
2. Have 5+ years Cath Lab/EP experience
3. New graduate who must obtain RCES/RCIS certification within 6 months of hire or transfer
into position.
Required Experience: Less than one year knowledge of Cardiac Cath Labs or EP Labs, Computers, Patient Care
