- Denial Management & Appeals: Investigate, correct, and aggressively appeal denied, rejected, or unpaid claims with commercial and Medicaid payers.
- Insurance Follow-Up: Communicate directly with insurance providers to resolve complex billing bottlenecks, credentialing hold-ups, or authorization mismatches.
- Data Cleanup & Integrity: Review and correct CPT codes (e.g., 97151–97158), modifiers, and billing documentation to ensure accurate claim resubmission and compliance.
- Performance Reporting: Maintain clear tracking of recovery milestones, aging reductions, and collected cash to present clear progress reports to leadership.
Qualifications & Experience
- ABA Billing Expertise: Minimum 2–3 years of dedicated experience handling medical billing, collections, and AR management specifically for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or behavioral health providers.
- Payer Knowledge: Strong working familiarity with major insurance networks, authorization workflows, and Medicaid reimbursement rules for autism services.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience navigating electronic health records (EHR) and billing platforms common to ABA providers (e.g., CentralReach, Lumary, Alova, or similar software).
- Analytical Mindset: Exceptional attention to detail with a proven track record of successfully cleaning up messier, legacy aging buckets ($100k+).
- Autonomy: Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a remote, output-driven environment.
