Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Medical Billing and Coding to lead our billing operations with expertise and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire revenue cycle management process, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, optimizing billing workflows, and maintaining high standards of accuracy in medical coding. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the medical billing and coding team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure operational excellence.
- Oversee all aspects of hospital revenue cycle management, including patient registration, insurance verification, coding, billing, collections, and accounts receivable follow-up.
- Ensure strict adherence to medical billing regulations and compliance standards such as Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance policies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of healthcare billing management practices, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding standards, and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation for proper coding and reimbursement.
- Implement and monitor billing software systems to streamline processes and improve accuracy across all billing activities.
- Conduct regular audits to verify compliance with healthcare laws including Medicare regulations and third-party insurance requirements.
- Develop strategies to optimize hospital revenue cycle performance while minimizing denials and delays.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of medical billing regulations compliance including Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance policies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, analysis, and documentation purposes.
- Experience with various billing software platforms used in healthcare settings.
- Strong understanding of healthcare billing management processes from patient registration through collections.
- Expertise in medical coding practices including ICD coding standards for accurate diagnosis classification.
- Deep familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems to ensure seamless data flow.
- Proven ability in team management with excellent leadership skills to motivate and develop staff members.
- Knowledge of hospital revenue cycle management strategies to maximize financial performance.
