Busy independent private cardiology practice seeking a full-time self-motivated, energetic, experienced Medical Assistant who is able to successfully multi-task and is passionate about providing quality patient care needed in for our Columbus office 4 days per week and 1 day per week (Thursday) with a paid mileage stiped to our Newark office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Interview patients, measures vital signs (pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height), obtain past medical history, cardiac risk factors, history of present illness, medications, allergies, review of systems).
Perform Electrocardiogram (EKG).
Applies ambulatory monitoring devices and instruction to patients.
Prepare patient and assist during cardiac stress testing.
Perform routine laboratory tests (PT/INR).
Complete check-out duties including but not limited to appointment/procedure/testing scheduling.
Cross-train in completing check-in duties (prior authorization, insurance eligibility, patient registration, collect co-payment.
Performs clerical/medical records tasks (obtain and upload hospital records, complete ROI's, phone triage, virtual fax, referrals).
Explains and/or provide literature with regard to treatment procedures and testing to patients.
Call and confirm and/or reschedule upcoming appointments.
Maintains and monitors outstanding orders including failed or cancelled appointments, testing and procedures.
Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour
