Job Title: Budtender
Location: New York, NY
Job Type: Part-Time / Full-Time
Reports To: Store Manager / Assistant Manager
Compensation: $18 Hourly wage + tips (if applicable) + employee discounts
As a Budtender, you are the face of the dispensary and the main point of contact for customers. Your role is to provide knowledgeable, friendly, and compliant service while helping guests select products that best meet their needs. The ideal candidate is passionate about cannabis, understands New York State cannabis regulations, and thrives in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Welcome and check in customers with a warm, professional attitude

Verify age and ID in accordance with NY OCM regulations

Educate customers on cannabis products, strains, methods of consumption, and safe usage

Offer personalized recommendations based on customer needs and preferences

Accurately process sales through the POS system while maintaining compliance

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, product displays, and workstations

Stay current on product knowledge, promotions, and inventory updates

Adhere to all dispensary procedures, safety guidelines, and regulatory compliance standards

Support inventory management through restocking, labeling, and tracking as needed

Handle customer concerns or complaints with empathy and professionalism

Assist in daily opening, closing, and shift change procedures

Required:

Must be 21 years of age or older

Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

High level of integrity, attention to detail, and reliability

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs

Preferred:

Prior cannabis retail experience
-
Knowledge of cannabis products (flower, edibles, vapes, tinctures, concentrates, etc.)

Familiarity with NY State cannabis laws and customer ID verification procedures

Experience using POS systems (Dutchie, Treez, LeafLogix, etc.)

Retail dispensary setting with strict security and compliance protocols

Fast-paced environment with high customer volume at times

Exposure to cannabis products and packaging materials
