Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues with engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and other vehicle components
- Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including powertrain, suspension, steering, brakes, and electrical wiring diagrams interpretation
- Conduct vehicle inspections and maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake replacements, and fluid top-offs
- Use hand tools and power tools efficiently to disassemble, repair, or replace faulty parts in accordance with manufacturer specifications
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical problems effectively
- Repair or replace vehicle transmission systems, diesel engines, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and perform wheel alignments for optimal vehicle handling
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and quality control guidelines while maintaining detailed service records
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and diagnostics tools
- Hands-on experience with vehicle suspension system repair, wheel alignment, and transmission system overhaul
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred; experience with diesel engine repair is a plus
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals accurately for complex repairs
- Proficiency with automotive service procedures using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and auto estimating software
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients about repairs needed and completed
- Valid mechanic certification or relevant technical training; ASE certification is desirable
