Position Summary
The Primary Therapist provides clinical services to clients enrolled in PHP and IOP levels of
care, including group therapy, individual counseling, treatment planning when applicable,
and care coordination. The therapist serves as the primary point of clinical contact for
assigned clients and ensures delivery of evidence-based, client-centered substance use
and co-occurring mental health treatment. This is a part-time position with the potential to
develop into a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate multiple daily group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans as
needed
- Provide individual and family therapy sessions as clinically indicated
- Maintain a caseload of PHP and/or IOP clients as needed
- Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in compliance with payer and
regulatory standards
- Coordinate care with referral sources, families, and outside providers
- Provide crisis intervention and relapse prevention planning if needed
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related behavioral health
field
- Active or eligible state licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.) preferred
- Experience in substance use and co-occurring disorder treatment preferred
- Experience facilitating group therapy required
- Knowledge of ASAM criteria and levels of care preferred
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
