Job Summary:
The Maintenance Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the janitorial activities within the facilities at the Club. This role involves supervising a team of janitorial staff, ensuring that the facility is clean, safe, and well maintained. The supervisor also manages schedules, assigns tasks, and monitors the overall performance of the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of janitorial staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Assign daily tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring that work is distributed efficiently and completed on time.
- Address and resolve any maintenance or janitorial-related issues that arise, both from staff and members.
Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Ensure daily janitorial checklist is followed.
- Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies, equipment, and tools; order necessary items as needed.
- Perform regular cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in all designated areas.
- Inspect and maintain cleanliness and orderliness throughout the facilities, including restrooms, common areas, offices, and other designated spaces.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and kitchen areas, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Empty trash receptacles and replace trash bags as needed.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
- Disinfect high-touch surfaces like doorknobs, light switches, and elevator buttons.
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Perform daily opening\ closing checklists.
- Address minor maintenance issues, such as changing light bulbs, repairing leaking faucets, and fixing minor equipment malfunctions.
- Report larger maintenance issues and equipment failures to the appropriate supervisor or maintenance team.
- Perform basic troubleshooting to identify problems and assess the need for professional repairs.
Safety and Security:
- Ensure that all areas are free of safety hazards and obstacles.
- Monitor the facility for security concerns and report any suspicious activities.
- Follow established safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Supplies Management:
- Keep track of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor when reordering is necessary.
- Ensure the supply closets are stocked and organized.
Special Events:
- Set up and clean up after special events or meetings as required.
Collaboration:
- Communicate with other staff members and supervisors to ensure the facility's needs are met.
- Work collaboratively with other janitorial and maintenance team members.
- Be willing to adjust work hours or tasks based on changing needs and priorities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some positions may require vocational or technical training in facility management, janitorial services, or a related field.
- Previous experience in janitorial or maintenance roles, with experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity preferred.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and basic maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to cleaning chemicals, equipment, and overall facility management.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication purposes.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and operate heavy cleaning equipment as needed.
