Goodwill Industries of the Columbia-Willamette (GICW) seeks an experienced full-time straight truck driver based in the Portland Metro area. Drivers travel throughout the GICW service area delivering and picking up at stores, warehouses, and other locations. Material handling using pallet jacks, hand trucks, and lift gates is required.

General Summary
Responsible for the transportation of materials to and from the Attended Donation Centers and other designated sites using company vehicles, on schedule, safely, in an expeditious manner, and for the security of GICW property, including donated goods. Drivers who transport materials for boutique production will also report to the Central Production manager.
Duties
Load and unload store shipments and donated goods.
- Pick up donations at Attended Donation Center (ADC) sites or other designated areas.
- Move materials using pallet jacks.
- Performs truck safety inspections at the beginning, during and at the end of each shift.
- Assist in keeping dock area clean.
- Keep the truck’s interior and exterior clean and neat.
- Drives with courtesy to others, and represents GICW to the public at large.
- Follows proper security procedures to protect GICW vehicles and property.
- Inspects and secures loads prior to transport.
- Complies with all state and Department of Transportation regulations.
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Foster and demonstrate a positive team environment.
- Must demonstrate willingness and ability to adhere to all GICW's policies and procedures, CARF standards, Kaizen guidelines, safety and security regulations.
Qualifications
Specific:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to follow written or verbal instructions.
- Must be able to function independently in a work setting.
- Acceptable hygiene per GICW standards.
- Ability to meet and communicate effectively with the public.
- Physically qualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle pursuant to DOT regulations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license which reflects a driving record that meets GICW standards.
- Must maintain medical certification.
General:
- Must maintain consistent, predictable and satisfactory attendance and punctuality as scheduled.
- Must be able to demonstrate upon request functional literacy and numeric proficiency.
- Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to converse with the general public, to understand highway traffic signs and signals in the English language, to respond to official inquires and to make entries on reports and records as required by DOT regulations.
- Must not present a significant current risk of substantial harm to self or others in the performance of the essential duties of the job that cannot be eliminated or reduced by reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions/Hazards:
- Driving, moving materials by hand or hand truck.
- Indoor and outdoor working conditions, exposed to all weather conditions.
- Must wear gloves, leather work shoes and other personal protective equipment as required.
- May have long periods of mobility and moving of merchandise.
- Travel throughout the service area is required.
- Moderate adaptability required: Work environment occasionally hectic (fast paced) with irregular short deadlines and a limited number of critical or unusual situations.
