Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist with meal assembly according to standardized recipes and menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, mixers, ovens, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold food safety standards
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure hygiene and prevent cross-contamination
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely delivery of dishes
Experience
- Previous experience in a food industry setting such as a restaurant or catering environment is highly preferred
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Demonstrated ability to execute recipes accurately while adhering to portion sizes and presentation standards
- Skilled in knife handling, slicing techniques, and basic cooking methods including sautéing, grilling, and boiling
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and front-of-house team
- Experience with meal preparation, food handling regulations, and operating various kitchen equipment is desirable
