∙ Ensure the safety of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment, and regular practice of fire drills and other emergency procedures. ∙ Operate the classroom in compliance with all childcare licensing standards.
∙ Provide supervision to all staff assigned to the classroom.
∙ Create a pleasant, inviting classroom atmosphere where children feel comfortable and secure. ∙ Provide positive guidance to help children develop the ability to be self-disciplined. ∙ Ensure parents receive adequate information about their child’s experiences at the center through daily contact and regularly scheduled parent conferences.
∙ Maintain simple records, daily reports, and attendance records in addition to written records designed to evaluate each child and the class as a whole.
∙ Support the lead teacher while they implement lesson plans daily.
∙ Work as a member of a team to ensure continuity of curriculum and a high standard of quality in all classrooms in the center.
∙ Greet children and parents daily.
∙ Be available for parents’ concerns, questions, and comments.
∙ Represent the center at community functions when necessary.
∙ Attend staff meetings, training, and conferences for professional growth.
∙ Plan and execute parent conferences and other parent-related activities.
∙ Assist teachers in the classroom whenever necessary.
∙ Keep the Director informed of any concerns that may arise.
∙ Keep up the appearance and orderliness of your classroom and ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are in good working order.
∙ Be a good role model for other teachers, parents, and children.
∙ Treat all staff members professionally and fairly.
∙ Assume an equal share of the daily housekeeping.
∙ Implement, adhere to, and be supportive of all policies and philosophies of Little Rainbows, L.L.C.
∙ Other duties as assigned.

Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to coworkers, parents, and other employees.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
