Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Electronics Engineer to support the design, manufacturing, and lifecycle management of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and electronic components. This onsite position is responsible for collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and contract manufacturing partners to ensure high-quality PCB production, support new product introductions, resolve manufacturing issues, and improve product reliability. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with PCBA manufacturing processes, testing methodologies, and electronic component management.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the complete lifecycle of printed circuit boards (PCBs) and electronic components in collaboration with product engineering teams.
- Evaluate new PCB designs and components to ensure compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate with contract manufacturers and electronic manufacturing service (EMS) providers to resolve manufacturing and production issues.
- Participate in PCB layout reviews and recommend design and manufacturability improvements.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), engineering change, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Analyze electronic components for lifecycle management, obsolescence, and risk mitigation.
- Support prototype builds and coordinate functional, electrical, EMI, and reliability testing activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve component, production, and quality concerns.
- Review manufacturing processes and test procedures to ensure products meet design requirements.
- Participate in engineering design reviews and design verification activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing and electronic product support.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience working with surface mount (SMD) and through-hole (THD) electronic components.
- Experience interpreting PCB layouts, Gerber files, and manufacturing documentation.
- Knowledge of multilayer PCB stack-up design and manufacturing.
- Experience with PCBA testing methods, including Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), Automated X-ray Inspection (AXI), In-Circuit Testing (ICT), Functional Circuit Testing (FCT), JTAG, solderability, and contamination testing.
- Strong understanding of PCB manufacturing processes and component lifecycle management.
- Knowledge of IPC standards and PCB component placement guidelines preferred.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
- Experience with PTC Windchill preferred.
- Experience with CAD software, including SolidWorks, is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing required.
- Experience supporting new product introductions, manufacturing, quality, or product engineering preferred.
- Experience working with contract manufacturers or electronic manufacturing service (EMS) providers preferred.
Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
