New upscale restaurant in Coconut Grove is looking for Line/Prep Cooks!
The Line Cook prepares food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line Cook duties will consist of assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
Skills and Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent.
● Qualification from a culinary school.
● Up-to-date Food handler’s certificate.
● Experience working in a similar role.
● Ability to work well in a team.
● Excellent listening and communication skills.
● Knowledge of best practices for safety and sanitation.
● Passion for delivering great food and service.
● Multitasking and organizational ability.
● Available to work shifts during weekends and holidays.
Line cook Job Duties:
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Answer, report and follow Senior chefs instructions
- Clean up station and take care of leftover food
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Line Cook expectations:
● You will be expected to be in the kitchen at the scheduled time, uniform on and ready to work.
● You will be held accountable for your designated station, always keeping a well-stocked and organized station.
● Assist the management team with ordering and inventory.
● You will be the designated trainer, following standard procedures and steps.
● You will assist management in maintaining a healthy and motivated work environment.
● Attention to Detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
