The Pacific-Union Club is seeking dependable, hardworking Dishwashers to join our distinguished Culinary team. Dishwashers play a vital role in ensuring the Culinary and Food & Beverage teams have the clean equipment and organized workspace necessary to provide seamless service to members and guests. Responsibilities
- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Wash, sanitize, polish, and properly store china, glassware, silverware, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the dish room.
- Remove trash and recycling while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Support culinary and banquet operations by maintaining a continuous supply of clean equipment.
- Assist with routine cleaning projects and additional duties as assigned.
- Support exceptional member and guest experiences through dependable teamwork and attention to cleanliness.
Qualifications
- One year of experience in commercial kitchen, stewarding, hospitality, or food service environments preferred but not required.
- Professional communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- California Food Handler certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Knowledge of commercial kitchen sanitation and food safety practices preferred.
- Professional demeanor and commitment to teamwork.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Work Environment
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout shifts.
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
- Fast-paced commercial kitchen environment.
- Frequent exposure to heat, steam, moisture, and commercial kitchen equipment.
- High level of collaboration with Culinary and Food & Beverage team members.
Schedule
This position requires flexibility based on Club needs. Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Full availability is expected unless otherwise agreed to in writing by the General Manager.
