The Aftercare Provider / Paraprofessional plays a dual role in supporting the daily academic and social-emotional growth of students. During school hours, the Paraprofessional assists lead teachers with classroom management, instructional support, and student supervision. After school, the individual transitions into leading structured activities, supervising homework time, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for students enrolled in the aftercare program.
Classroom Paraprofessional Duties

Assist lead teachers in executing daily lesson plans and providing one-on-one or small-group instructional support to students.

Help maintain classroom organization, prepare instructional materials, and manage student behavior in alignment with school policies.

Supervise students during non-instructional times, including recess, lunch, hallway transitions, and drop-off/pick-up routines.

Support students with special educational or behavioral needs as directed by teachers or administration.
Aftercare Program Duties

Lead and supervise students in the afterschool program, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming atmosphere.

Organize and facilitate daily recreational activities, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and quiet homework/study sessions.

Manage attendance and maintain accurate check-in/check-out records to ensure secure student dismissal to authorized parents or guardians.

Handle minor behavioral issues gently and constructively, enforcing aftercare rules consistently.

Prepare and distribute afterschool snacks while adhering to allergy and food safety guidelines.
