Job Summary
Wellins Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Inspection & Testing Manager with NICET Level III certifications in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems. This position will be responsible for managing, performing, and overseeing inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and compliance activities for fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems across multiple industrial projects.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of NFPA codes, experience coordinating with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), and the ability to lead inspection/testing teams while ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72 and applicable local codes
- Perform and oversee inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire sprinkler and water-based fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA 25 and applicable local codes
- Conduct system functional testing, troubleshooting, and deficiency identification
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, deficiency reports, and corrective action documentation
- Coordinate directly with AHJs, customers, subcontractors, and project teams regarding inspections and compliance matters
- Review sprinkler system documentation, as-built drawings, and test records
- Supervise and support field technicians and inspection personnel
- Ensure all inspections and testing activities comply with company quality and safety standards
- Assist with scheduling inspections, service calls, and recurring testing requirements
- Support permits close-out processes and final acceptance testing
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, and testing documentation
- Provide technical guidance regarding code compliance and fire protection system operation
- Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians
Qualifications
- NICET Level III – Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems (required)
- Strong working knowledge of NFPA 25, NFPA 72, and related fire protection codes
- Experience with commercial, industrial, and/or manufacturing facilities preferred
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and fire protection system layouts
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional fire protection licenses or certifications
- Experience working with industrial facilities
- Experience coordinating directly with Fire Marshals and AHJs
Work Environment
- Travel to project sites is mandatory

Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
