Job Summary
McCauleys Truck Center is flipping the “Technician” career on its lid in Central Oregon! And paying top 1% technicians what they are actually worth! And treating them how they should be treated which is like family! We are seeking 1-2 candidates for this role and ideally one of the candidates would be interested in fulfilling a shop manager position! we have a crew of 6 people and if you don’t mesh well with others please do not apply!
Duties
**These are MUST HAVES not nice to have if you do not have these please do not apply!**
- Lead and supervise a team of diesel technicians in diagnosing and repairing heavy trucks, including freightliner , international, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Mack/Volvo, Isuzu, Hino and all light duty makes, Ford, Chevy, Dodge
- Perform complex repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems, and electrical troubleshooting must have experience with Cummins insite, Diagnostic link, Jpro, Mitchell
- Conduct automotive diagnostics using schematics and specialized tools to identify issues accurately, must be able to look up there own schematics using Cummins quick serve or Mitchell prodemand
- Oversee/assist with routine maintenance tasks such as PM services, DOT inspections, customer provided services and inspections forms
- Fabricate or modify parts as needed for equipment repair or customization.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and parts used Using our CRM software FullBay.
- Train and mentor junior technicians to improve skills and make sure they are learning the correct way to do things. Do not teach them old bad habits!
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and recommendations.
Requirements
- Proven dealership or heavy truck and light truck repair experience with a strong background in diesel engine repair.
- Extensive knowledge of diesel repair, mechanical systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, and schematics.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and use of power tools.
- Ability to show up on time, not 8:01 or 8:15 show up 10-30mins early to prepare for the day!
- Must have a great attitude this is non negotiable, if you come into the shop every day and complain about the work, or what we have and don’t have you will not last long!
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively Lead by example others should not need to be told you’re a shop lead!!
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs. Double check all work being done in the shop before it’s returned to customers to prevent come backs
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and working in various environmental conditions!

What I am looking for in this role is hard to find I know, that is why I’m willing to pay top dollar for these positions, this is between $40/hr-$60/hr especially for the shop lead/foreman.
